Privacy Policy for Sudoku: Classic Logic Puzzle
1 Overview & Commitment
This Privacy Policy describes how Orion Tech ("we", "us", or "our") handles personal data and privacy rights when you download, access, or play our mobile application Sudoku: Classic Logic Puzzle (Package Name: com.oriontech.sudoku, referred to as the "Service" or "App").
We are committed to maintaining user trust and protecting privacy for users of all age groups. This policy is designed to comply with Google Play Console developer requirements, Google Play's Designed for Families program, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / GDPR-K), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and other global data privacy regulations.
Sudoku: Classic Logic Puzzle is a family-friendly brain puzzle game created for all age groups (children, teens, and adults). It features an offline Solo Puzzle Game and an interactive 1v1 Real-Time Multiplayer Battle mode. The App does not require registration, email accounts, or password creation to play.
2 Information Collection and Use
To deliver core game functionality, support offline puzzle storage, and facilitate real-time 1v1 multiplayer matches, we collect specific minimal types of data:
- User-Provided Information (Multiplayer Display Name): When entering 1v1 multiplayer mode, players enter a custom display name or nickname. This name is shared solely within active game lobbies for opponent identification and is not linked to any personal email or social profile.
- Local Preference & Game Progress Data: Game board states, difficulty settings (Easy, Medium, Hard, Expert), pencil notes, mistake counts, timers, move history, theme preferences, and haptic/audio settings. All solo game progress is stored locally on your device.
- Device & Identifiers Data: Device model, operating system version (Android / iOS), screen metrics, app build version, and network connection status (Wi-Fi or cellular). This technical data is accessed via Capacitor framework runtime plugins to optimize screen rendering and status bar appearance.
- Technical Diagnostic Logs: Automated error or crash reports generated when an application exception occurs, containing diagnostic information, device OS version, and timestamps to troubleshoot software bugs.
๐ก Minimal Data Collection Principle
Sudoku: Classic Logic Puzzle does not collect your real name, email address, phone number, address, contacts, photos, precise GPS location, or device contacts. No user account registration or social login is required.
3 Real-Time 1v1 Multiplayer Data Handling
Our App includes an online 1v1 Multiplayer Mode allowing players to compete in real-time Sudoku matches via encrypted WebSocket connections (Socket.IO):
- Match Room Codes & Lobby Data: When creating or joining a room, temporary room codes, match difficulty, and game mode selection (timed vs untimed) are processed on our multiplayer matchmaking server.
- Real-Time Match Progress Syncing: During an active match, real-time metrics such as cells filled, mistakes count, and match completion status are transmitted between connected players to render opponent progress bars and announce the winner.
- Transient In-Memory Server Processing: All multiplayer room states, socket IDs, and match progress data exist strictly in volatile server memory while the match is active. Once a room is closed or players disconnect, room data is immediately purged. No match histories or chat logs are permanently stored on our servers.
4 How We Use Collected Data
We use the collected information strictly for the following purposes:
- Core Solo Gameplay: Generating Sudoku puzzles across difficulty levels, validating grid solutions, supporting hint and note-taking features, and saving your current game state locally on your device.
- Real-Time Multiplayer Matchmaking: Connecting two players into shared rooms, synchronizing live progress indicators, and evaluating match winners.
- Device Optimization: Adapting UI layout, dark/light theme integration, and status bar styles to match your device operating system.
- App Performance & Bug Fixing: Analyzing error logs and crash diagnostics to fix software bugs, reduce latency, and enhance game stability.
- In-App Updates: Facilitating seamless application updates through standard Google Play and Apple App Store mechanisms.
